Karina Sindicich

Teaching Artist

Karina is an Australian born actress and teaching artist based in NYC. She received her Bachelor of Honors in Acting from LaSalle College of the Arts, Singapore. She is passionate about children’s education in the arts and has been teaching and facilitating drama and children’s education and entertainment for 14 years. 

In Singapore she was head of curriculum development and lead drama teacher for the non-profit agency The Learning Connections and once back in Australia, she was selected to be a Captain Starlight (clown) for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia and worked in a Sydney children’s hospital for two years.

Since moving to NYC Karina has taught theater with numerous organizations including Zara Aina, with whom she has performed outreach in NYC, Alabama and Madagascar. She is the alumni coordinator for The Dramatic Adventure Theater Company, and has traveled with the team to Tanzania, Ecuador and Slovakia teaching drama and storytelling. She is currently a Program Facilitator for ASTEP (Artists Striving To End Poverty) and traveled with them to India to teach dance and movement to students at Shanti Bhavan in India. Other companies Karina has worked with include The Actors Theater Workshop as a drama mentor for The Builders of a New World program and Magicians Without Borders teaching math through magic for The Parkside School NY.

She is currently in her final year of completing her MA in Applied Theater at CUNY and is still pinching herself that she is a part of the wonderful NYCCT!
