Rachel Evans

Teaching Artist

Rachel Evans is a teaching artist, actress and writer. She has been teaching for various organizations/non profits and theater companies since 2006 and been working for NYCCT since 2009. Rachel has taught acting, playwriting, devising, improv and more from elementary school to senior citizens. She has taught elders and intergenerational groups through Roots & Branches Theatre company, Elders Share the Arts and as a 2015 SPARC (Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide) artist-in-residence and now a 2016 SU-CASA artist-in-residence. As an actress, she has worked off-broadway and across the country in various theaters. Her one-woman show, Jew Wish, which she wrote, starred in and produced premiered at the NY International Fringe Festival. Her one-act plays and monologues have been performed with Primary Stages, Project Rushmore Theatre Company, and Elevator Up Theatre Company. She holds a BA in English and Theatre from Tufts University, and an MA in Applied Theatre from CUNY.
