Kiah Amara

Education Apprentice

Kiah Amara is an NYC based actor, creator, and teaching artist. Raised in the Midwest, she had the opportunity to work with the fantastic Penguin Project which brings together actors of all abilities and from which she developed a passion for creating opportunities for inclusion and access in theatre and film. Continuing her work around the world, Kiah has worked with as many organizations as she can including Royal Shakespeare Company’s Kelly Hunter and her Hunter Heartbeat Method for children on the Autism Spectrum and Chicago Children’s Theater where she spent the last year working as a teaching artist with both Red Kite and The Station.

As an actor, she was recently seen in several short films and features including The Stacks (finalist, Mindscape International Film Festival). As a creator, she is currently associate producing Other Almosts (, an indie feature about inclusion and discovery.

Kiah holds a BFA in musical theatre/acting and minor in psychology from UW-Stevens Point. She is thrilled to be joining the NYCCT education team for 2017-2018 and can’t wait to discover NYC through the celebration of art, diversity, and learning!
