This will be quite a Memory!

“I purchased tickets to NYCCT’s Young Charles Dickens with the hope of making the man behind the indelible characters and strong social messages come alive.  The fine acting, score, choreography, intimate setting, and clever set design did the trick.  As enthralled as I was with the performance, I peeked often at my children’s faces as they watched the stage, their eyes alert and facial expressions animated.  The conversations we had about the play on the way home and in the days afterward have been meaningful and thought-provoking, and my 10-year-old son and I were inspired to begin volunteering at a local soup kitchen.  This was our first NYCCT experience and our family is committed to supporting NYCCT in the future.  Thank you for making the nuances of all that goes into theater production resonate for my son and daughter, and for helping to teach them about one of the world’s most important writers in a most poignant way. This will be quite a memory!”

Ballerina Swan (2013)

Truly Magical!

“I brought my three year old daughter to see Ballerina Swan this past December.  She was absolutely mesmerized by the performance, not even noticing when I waved a cookie and juice box in front of her eyes in the middle of the show.  Since then, she has not stopped pirouetting across our apartment and has abandoned all intentions of becoming a fireman for her new pursuit of ballet. I also enjoyed the performance tremendously.  The dancers were beautiful and engaging, the theatre intimate, and the storyline charming.  It was truly magical to see how dance, theatre, and audience participation were woven together.  Great work!  I can’t wait to see your next show.”

This Show was Unforgettable!

“I just saw Young Charles Dickens with my two grandchildren.  The show was terrific.  The story was fast moving and compelling; the music and singing enhanced the show; the script was amazing — so many wonderful, memorable lines. The acting was terrific. I have seen many shows for children, but this show and its message about impoverishment and the power of storytelling was unforgettable!

Ballerina Swan (2013)

It was Fantastic!

“We took our three and a half year old granddaughter. This was her first experience with live theatre and it was fantastic! We had purchased the book prior to our attending the show so she would be familiar with the story. The performers were wonderful, engaging and the interaction with the children added to their interest and attention. I look forward to future performances.”

A Band of Angels (2015)

Glorious music, emotional acting, historical story…a powerful message!

The show was such a wonderful experience with glorious music, emotional acting, and a historical story that combined to convey a powerful message…For much of our hour long drive home [my son] asked additional questions…it was a fabulous conversation that touched on many topics and truly extended what he and I experienced and learned from your performance. I thought you might like to know the positive impact your work and passion you put into it had on us today.”
