Explore the Weather!

Staying inside can be fun when you play, sing, dance, and read! Join us as we explore the weather with some of your favorite children’s books, songs and fun activity ideas for you and your little ones!

Here are the books and activities you can use to explore the weather with your little one(s)!

Little Cloud

Start off by reading Little Cloud by Eric Carle.

The little cloud in this book transforms into many different shapes! If you were a cloud, what would you look like? Countdown from 3, 2, 1 and use your body to turn into a cloud! Is your cloud big or small? What color is it? Countdown again and transform your cloud into a different shape! Maybe your cloud is now shaped like an animal, or a food! Countdown again and transform your cloud into a different shape!

Listen to How’s The Weather! Then, look out your window and see how the weather is in your neighborhood today.

The Snowy Day

Go on another weather adventure with The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.

In the book, when Peter looks out his window, he sees snowflakes falling from the sky. Did you know that you can make your own snowflakes using just a pencil, paper, and a pair of scissors? Follow this video tutorial to create your own paper snowflakes! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCuk8E-MhdE

Then, dance and freeze while you listen to Snow Man Freeze!
