2017-18 Middle School Playwriting Competition Theme:

How do we use technology to connect with others?

New York City Children’s Theater is seeking short plays from some of the most talented playwrights in New York City and New Jersey: Middle School Students!

To participate, students in grades 6-8 will write an original, entertaining and enriching 10-minute play based on this year’s theme: How do we use technology to connect with others?

Deadline for Submissions:
Friday, March 9th

Why should you enter?

  • Every student who participates will have their plays read by a theater professional and receive feedback
  • Students who submit by the early bird deadline (Friday, February 23rd) will receive a discount ticket offer to see Talk to Me at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater
  • Five (5) Grand Prize Winner’s will receive a staged reading of their play at Theatre Row in May 2018!
