Last week, NYCCT presented four plays written by six of the best playwrights in NY and NJ – Middle School Students! The plays: Home is a Place of Love written by Leandre, Matthew and Steewalk; Locked In written by Maya; Home is Where the Love Is written by Tyshaun; and Anastasia: An Untold Story written by Samantha, answered the question: what does home mean to you?

Bringing our playwrights’ work to life were two fantastic directors: Jenna Doherty and Hunter Francisco, and a group of incredible actors: Claire Fleitz, Michael Lorz (Dear Albert Einstein, Wanda’s Monster), Cynthia Nesbit (A Band of Angels, Interstellar Cinderella, Please Bring Balloons) and Eric Willingham (Pillowland), as well as young actors from The New Paradigm Theatre in Connecticut: Charlie, Jake, Keeme, Macie, Scarlet and Sienna. We are incredibly thankful to them for volunteering their time and talents to our competition!

Know a young playwright who would like to enter the competition next year?
